Accreditation agency, basis of the Law on Health Care Institutions of the Republic of Lithuania (Official Gazette, 1996, No. 66-1572, 1998, No. 109-2995), order by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania relating to the Licensing of personal health care institution 2 March 2007 order No. V-156 (Official Gazette, 2007, No. 31-1148) and the Order No V-364 by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania of 14 may 2004 “On the approval of the lists of licensed personal health care services” (Official Gazette, 2004, No. 86-3152; 2006. No 44-1619) and special person’s healthcare services requirements, issue the licenses of institution of health care, conferring the right to provide licensed health care services. Person’s healthcare services provided without a health care institution license is an illegal activity and it shall be answered according to the laws.

State Health Care Accreditation Agency under the Ministry of Health is giving licenses for public health care activities according to The law on Public Health Care of the Republic of Lithuania (No IX-886 of 16 May 2002), The order No V-868 of 1 October 2010 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania “On the Approval of the Licensing Procedure of Public Health Care Activities”.

ACCREDITATION OF HEALTH CARE ORGANISATIONS
According to the Law on Health Care Organisations of the Republic of Lithuania health care organisations having licence and at least three years of health care practice have the right to apply to the State Health Care Accreditation Agency for voluntary accreditation.
Accreditation regulations are approved by the Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania of 7 June 1999 No 280 ,,Concerning approval of Accreditation Regulations for Personal Health Care Organisations” .
Since March 2016 the State Health Care Accreditation Agency accredits family medicine service provided by primary health care organisations according to the national standards approved by the Order of the Director of the State Health Care Accreditation Agency of 22 February 2016 No T1-233 ,,Concerning Approval of National Accreditation Standards for Family Medicine Service”.
The Order of the Director of the State Health Care Accreditation Agency of 3 March 2016 No T1-329 ,,Concerning Approval of Accreditation Procedure for Family Medicine Service” defines the list of documents to be submitted by the health care organisation and accreditation procedure.
,,accreditation manual for primary health care organisations”
We have pleasure to inform that ,,Accreditation Manual for Primary Health Care Organizations” has been published using finances of European Social Fund and funds of the Lithuanian Republic. Primary health care organisations providing family medicine service may get the Manual for free at the State Health Care Accreditation Agency.
We should like to advise that according to decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of 01 June 2016 No 1458 ,,Concerning amendment of list of taxations and regulations of payment of state dues and tax refund” there is a fee of 548 Euros for issue of accreditation certificate.
